American Society of Media Photographers
Northern California Chapter
Description:
For over 40 years ASMP, the largest professional photography association in the world, has sought to protect and further the photography profession. The Northern California Chapter was one of the Society's most active and included such renown photographers as Ernest Braun, Galen Rowell, and Franz Lanting.
This search engine friendly web design project promoted the society and its mission and the chapter and its membership to the entirety of the photographic community, whether it be fellow photographers, vendors, or clients. This was accomplished in such a manner so as to consume minimal resources while allowing the site to remain fresh, up-to-date, and of maximum utility to membership. The sites 500 pages of content covered business literature, administrative tasks, industry news, product reviews, newsletter and web production templates, submission guidelines, newsletter archive, member portfolios, local and national photography resources, email aliases and customized forms for chapter administrators, and listservs for members, non-members, and chapter board.
Features:- Unique chapter logo to give chapter identity and branding.
- 500 pages of content efficiently and cost-effectively managed through JavaScript templates.
- Navigation structure targeted at both professional photographers and their clients.
- Straight-forward site architecture for quick updating by volunteer staff with only basic understanding of web technologies.
- Search engine friendly web design.
- Back-end scripting to automate routine chapter operations and generate HTML content.
- Integration of email aliases and listservs for internal chapter communications.
- Member portfolios which doubled as independent web sites. In most cases these portfolio pages scored higher in search engines results than members' own private web sites.
